KSFY reports that on Thursday, September 17<sup>th<\/sup>, a fire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ksfy.com\/home\/headlines\/Six-members-of-a-Platte-family-die-in-an-early-morning-fire-328130631.html\">burned down the home<\/a> of the Westerhuis family. Autopsy reports unveiled that the incident was in fact a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.argusleader.com\/story\/news\/crime\/2015\/09\/22\/platte-fire-investigation-reveals-murdersuicide\/72603012\/\">murder-suicide<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.argusleader.com\/staff\/41339\/megan-raposa\/\">Megan Raposa<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.argusleader.com\/staff\/13227\/jonathan-ellis\/\">Jonathan Ellis<\/a> write in the Argus Leader that Scott Westerhuis was in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2015\/09\/22\/murder-suicide-fire-south-dakota\/72621140\/\">financial trouble<\/a>, as he had lost a $4.3 Billon contract with the Mid-Central Educational Cooperative, the business company which he managed. It is not fully determined as to whether or not this was the motivation for the murder-suicide.
