This story is newsworthy because there are 200 people possibly dead including rescuers that are in an underground tunnel near a nuclear test site in North Korea. This collapse happened on Oct 10, and the U.S. heard about this yesterday.

There is a broadcast version of this story above the article. There are a couple of big pictures in the story. One of a Japanese Meteorological Agency’s directors and one with Kim Jong Un with a nuclear warhead.

The pictures take up a lot of space in the article which shows that story is small and not have a lot of information. There is a limited amount of information that’s coming out about this event.

The Washington Post and Japan’s Asahi TV information used for this article. North Korea made a statement through the Korean Central News Agency.

The audience is international news people, political fans, and people who are interested in what’s going on in North Korea at the moment.

The lede is compelling because it tells what’s going on at a North Korea nuclear test site. The point of view is in the third person.

One part that is missing from this story is the U.S.’s response to North Korea’s Korea Central News Agency and the Hermit Kingdom statements. Another part is how the U.S. is going to handle what North Korea is doing lately with nuclear testings.

This story went by really fast. It was in the news, then gone. I can only assume that is because no information came out of North Korea. It’s a good example of how Kim’s government is able to control the media and the flow of information.
