Objectivity

September 1st, 2015

My definition of objectivity is the finding an objective to keep non-biased. It’s what a story should be, but often gets personal opinions to make it bias or even untrue.

We should be objective so we can have credibility and be trusted as a journalist. We want people to read our stories and be informed and not get offended by them.

How do you do it? Keep your mouth shut! Get used to not expressing your own personal feelings. Interview both sides of the story to express equal view points. Now in extreme situations like an article mentioned about the end of World War II, you wouldn’t interview a Nazi because they already committed an evil doing.
