{"id":12,"date":"2011-09-29T20:13:41","date_gmt":"2011-09-29T20:13:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/paigepotter\/?p=12"},"modified":"2011-09-29T20:13:41","modified_gmt":"2011-09-29T20:13:41","slug":"judaism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/paigepotter\/2011\/09\/29\/judaism\/","title":{"rendered":"Judaism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday in class we started talking about Judaism. \u00a0Many of us knew nothing about Judaism so we started from the basics. \u00a0I liked being able to learn all the basics and not have known any knowledge about it before. \u00a0Looking back to class on Tuesday, I feel like I gained a lot of knowledge. \u00a0I learned Judaism has four main parts to the religion which are it&#8217;s a monotheistic religion, it&#8217;s a textual religion, it&#8217;s a religion of the land and it&#8217;s a ritual-orientated religion. \u00a0In the ritual-orientated part, one of the most things that I found most interesting was learning about the Kosher food. \u00a0Which was not being able to mix milk and meat products and other foods that were forbidden.<\/p>\n<p>Today in class we talked about different holidays that are on the Jewish calendar. \u00a0Today actually happens to be the Jewish New Year, which is called Rosh Hashanna!
