Death on NYC Subway Track

Monday afternoon a man was shoved onto the subway track in NYC and was killed after being struck by a subway.  Witnesses say the victim and another man were arguing before the accident took place. Videos were taken of the accident and turned into the police.  Other witnesses said the victim tried to climb back up but was still struck by the subway.  The man was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.

This story is newsworthy because it does not happen often.  Many people use the subway systems but not many accidents ever occur.  It can be traumatizing for the witnesses that watched this man’s death and some people may second guess bringing kids in areas where things like this could happen.  It may bring up another concern about how safe subway systems are.  People may want safety barriers put up so accidents like this do not happen again.
