Live cams of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/world\/france\/paris\/?cam=eiffeltower\">Paris<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/usa\/newyork\/timessquare\/?cam=gped\">Times Square<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/indonesia\/bali\/?cam=bali1\">Elephants in India<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/usa\/nebraska\/omaha\/falconcam\/?cam=falcon_omaha\">Omaha Hawk Cam<\/a>, yes even <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/usa\/northdakota\/cavalier\/?cam=cavalier\">Cavalier, ND<\/a> (I know you all were curious about that city!).\u00a0 A number of zoos and aquariums also have their webcams linked at this site.\u00a0 You can possibly see a whale shark swim by on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgiaaquarium.org\/experience\/explore\/connect\/webcams\/ocean-voyager-Webcam\">Ocean Voyager WebCam<\/a>. These and hundreds of others can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/\">EarthCam.com<\/a>. There are also several nature cams that can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/explore.org\" target=\"_blank\">explore.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What might be some potential uses of these\u00a0 webcams? One possible use might be to see important events that happen to be occurring in real-time.\u00a0 This could be one way to view the scene during important events. Another use can simply to expose students to what that particular location is like at a point in time.\u00a0 Some webcams allow for time-lapse video and others still can be maneuvered to get a wider view. However not all of the EarthCams are live video.\u00a0 Some are static images that can be manipulated.<\/p>\n<p>An annoyance to be aware of is that many of these cams make you watch an ad before you actually get to the live view, but a little patience and you are soon onto taking a gander at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/world\/ireland\/dublin\/?cam=templebar\">Temple Bar in Dublin. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally remember the old saying, &#8220;what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?&#8221; Well <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earthcam.com\/network\/index.php?country=us&amp;page=NV\">this set of live webcams<\/a> dispel that belief.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One more blog post concerning using video in the classroom.\u00a0 Were you aware that there are a number of live web-cams around the world that you can access?
