{"id":97,"date":"2022-10-27T11:04:22","date_gmt":"2022-10-27T16:04:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/msd008\/?p=97"},"modified":"2022-10-27T11:04:22","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T16:04:22","slug":"speech-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.morningside.edu\/msd008\/2022\/10\/27\/speech-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Speech Story"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Scott Stuart continues the fight to live for the people in life and is never giving up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stuart received the Jimmy V Perseverance Award and gave an emotional speech about his fight against cancer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He mentioned a couple of great recipients of the awards in the past and doesn&#8217;t believe he belonged to them. Now he feels responsible to be like them and never give up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stuart expresses that the fight is difficult and he didn&#8217;t believe he would make it to give the speech. He goes on to say &#8220;Our life&#8217;s journey is about the people that touch us.&#8221; Stuart shows his appreciation for all those that have stood by him and admits that he couldn&#8217;t have fought alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stuart mentions his coworkers, friends, doctors, and family&#8217;s support. He explains how he has a responsibility to keep fighting because they are all fighting for him. Stuart said, &#8220;this fight is not a solo venture.&#8221; He then specifically thanked his daughters Taelor and Sydni for being the reason he fights every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of them, he was able to live long enough to accept this award.
