Creating an academic village, renovating Dimmitt Hall and Eppley Auditorium<\/p>\n

Creating an academic village<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The academic village concept will reshape the south side of Morningside\u2019s campus. An outdoor plaza will visually link the new classroom building and advising center with the Hickman Johnson Furrow Learning Center and the Walker Science Center.\u00a0 The learning center will be remodeled to create a new main entrance from the Hilker Campus Mall and to convert the second floor into a study lounge. The academic village will be where the majority of Morningside College classes take place.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Renovating Dimmitt Hall<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nearly a quarter of the student body lives in Dimmitt Hall, and most of the residents are first-year students. The oldest and largest residence hall on campus, Dimmitt sorely needs improvements to its infrastructure and physical appearance to ensure that it remains a Morningside institution for years to come.<\/p>\n

Renovating Eppley Auditorium<\/strong><\/p>\n

For almost 50 years, Eppley Auditorium has hosted countless college and community events. The extensive use of Eppley has taken its toll on the carpet, wall coverings and seats. A renovation of the auditorium will give it a much-needed update and improve the image of the college\u2019s premier indoor performance and lecture space.<\/p>\n
