Arnie worked for F.W. Woolworth in New York City until retiring, at which time he became vice president and director of operation at Oral Roberts University.\u00a0 Arnie then retired again and became president of Media Unlimited until deciding to retire for good. Carolyn has been a column writer for several newspapers and a realtor for over 25 years.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1961<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Former Iowa Sen. <b>Dr. Dave Mulder<\/b>, R-Sioux Center, had his second book, \u201cAn Education in Politics: Four Years in the Iowa State Senate 2004-2008,\u201d published in October 2012.\u00a0 Mulder wrote the book with former Sen. Frank B. Wood Jr., D-Eldridge.\u00a0 Mulder\u2019s first work was a yearly devotional titled \u201cDevotions from the Heartland,\u201d and was published in 2010.\u00a0 A second edition will be published in 2013. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1964<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Dr. Bonnie (Nagel) Messer<\/b> works in private practice as a licensed psychologist in Colorado. She recently published a book titled \u201cSixty-Five Lively Ideas for Successful Aging\u201d with co-author Marjorie Bayes. Bonnie and her husband, Donald, also have established a nonprofit organization called the Center for the Church and Global AIDS, which seeks to support and advocate for persons infected and affected by HIV and AIDS in the world through programs of education, prevention, care and treatment. Bielenberg also just completed a three-year term on the International Society for Business Education board, as well as a three-year term on the North Central Business Education Association Board.\u00a0 Bielenberg continues service on the Iowa Business Education Association Board.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Tom and Jan (Hughes) McIntosh 1969<\/b> have retired from the Green River, Wyo., school district and moved to Loveland, Colo. Tom received Distinguished Citizen recognition from the Green River Chamber of Commerce in 2012 for his years of volunteer work developing the Green River Bike Park and Wilkins Peak Mountain Bike Trail System.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Rosemary (Buckingham) Tweet<\/b> retired from Tucson Unified School District in Arizona after 18 years. During this time, she served as an elementary classroom teacher, a Title\u00a0I resource seacher, a curriculum specialist at a technology focus school and for the past six years, she served as a district language arts specialist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>1969<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Russel Clifford <\/b>retired from Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, where he was the minister of music. He was\u00a0at Morningside Lutheran Church\u00a0for 14 years after teaching at West High School and Bishop Heelan Catholic High School, both in Sioux City.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1970<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Marilyn (Webb) Hagberg<\/b> was elected to the 2013 Siouxland Community Foundation Board.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Scott Schreiner<\/b> retired in March 2013.\u00a0 Most recently, Schreiner had worked in the Steele County Attorney\u2019s Office in Owatonna, Minn., as the assistant county attorney, and prior to this, Schreiner served as a partner for 27 years in the law firm of Ruth, Schreiner, and Long.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1971<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Dr. bill russell <\/b>directed \u201cElegies for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens\u201d at the University of Kansas. \u201cElegies for Angels, Punks, and Raging Queens\u201d was developed in the late 1980s as a theatrical response to the AIDS crisis. Spies is a past president of the board and a broker associate with Century 21 ProLink in Sioux City. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1975<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Scott Ernst<\/b> was named treasurer of the Downtown Sioux City Kiwanis Club for 2012-2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>1977<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Linda (Clausen) Erickson<\/b> recently earned the Certified Hospice &amp; Palliative Nurse designation. She is the education coordinator for Hospice of Siouxland. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1979<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Janet (Liibbe) Young<\/b> was awarded the Warren E. Shull National High School Student Council Adviser of the Year Award in June of 2012.\u00a0 Young is a teacher at Sioux City West High School and has been student council adviser for 24 years. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1980<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Frank Heffner<\/b> was recognized for 20 years of service at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.\u00a0 Heffner is an instructor in the video game design program at the college.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Dr. Tim Orwig<\/b> works for Northeastern University in Boston as a lecturer, teaching courses in design and architectural history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1981<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Deb Angerman<\/b> was recognized for 25 years of service at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City.\u00a0 Angerman is an accounting specialist at the college.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>1982<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Dan Fry<\/b> recently began working as the global logistics and distribution manager for Otterbox in Fort Collins, Colo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1983<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Jim Diavastes<\/b> received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Television Broadcasting and was also named Creative Director\/Producer of the Year by Medaille College in Buffalo, N.Y.\u00a0 These awards recognize creativity, expertise and service to the Western New York and Medaille community.\u00a0 Diavastes is the Senior Creative Services producer\/director for WIVB\/WNLO-TV in Buffalo.\u00a0 He began his career at KMSC radio station at Morningside and KTIV television station in Sioux City.\u00a0 Other recognition over the years includes ADDY Awards, New York State Broadcasters Association awards, public service awards, and Best Commercial produced by LIN TV Corporation, which he won in 2010. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Marcia (Byers) Moore<\/b>\u00a0was named a member of the board for the Siouxland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure for 2012-2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1984<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Kelly Enright<\/b> is an office coordinator at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>1985<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Eric Norton<\/b> is a mechanical design technician for Schemmer and Associates in Omaha, Neb. His son, Sgt. Michael P. Norton, is serving his third tour of duty at Camp Leatherneck in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. The group recently won the state auxiliary\u2019s first-place award for the second consecutive year. It was awarded this honor for its contributions to the fire department and the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1994<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Rexann (Kaler) Smith<\/b> was recognized for five years of service at Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City. Komen for the Cure.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Tony Onesto<\/b>, art teacher at Aldo Leopold Middle School in Burlington, Iowa, was named the 2012 Outstanding Middle Level Art Educator. He received this recognition from Art Educators of Iowa in October during a joint Iowa\/Nebraska conference in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This is not the first time that\u00a0Onesto has received recognition for his teaching<span style=\"color: #000000\">. He was a\u00a0finalist for two national teaching awards, and he was awarded the League of United Latin American Citizens State Director Award for service above and beyond for children in 2004; Daily Democrat Teacher of the Year in 2008; and Southeastern Iowa\/Southwestern Illinois Teacher of the Year place winner from the Burlington Hawk Eye newspaper in 2002, 2006 and 2012.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1997<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Dr. Patrick J. Murphy<\/b><b>\u2019s <\/b>new book, \u201cMutiny and its Bounty: Leadership Lessons from the Age of Discovery,\u201d authored with his colleague Ray Coye, was published in March 2013 by Yale University Press.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Jay Peyton<\/b> lives in Branson, S.D., and works for Citi as a vice president senior process engineer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #000000\">1998<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b>Laurie (Wilmes) Bentson<\/b> works for Northwest Area Education Agency (AEA) in Sioux City as a special education strategist.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Angie (Messerich) Madsen<\/b> was recently named the top pediatric nurse in Nebraska.\u00a0 She was nominated by her colleagues at Children\u2019s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Susan Willer<\/b> is a copywriter for Staples Promotional Products in Orange City, Iowa. In her hometown of Brunsville, Iowa, she publishes a newsletter every month called The Brunsville Blitz.
