Mindless.<br>It doesn\u2019t matter what the story\u2019s about\u2014you\u2019re not here for meaning, just patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s easy. <br>You feel fast. Efficient.<br>Certain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then they say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cNow mark every line spoken by the main character\u2014but only in Chapter 3, after they\u2019ve found the treasure, unless it\u2019s a dream.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>You stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, you\u2019d have to <strong>read<\/strong>.<br>You\u2019d have to <strong>know<\/strong> who the main character is.<br>Track what they want.<br>Notice when things change.<br>Feel the dream pulling at the edges of reality.<br>Understand when <em>finding the treasure<\/em> meant more than gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The task hasn\u2019t just become harder.<br>It\u2019s become <strong>different<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What worked before no longer applies.<br>You can\u2019t just recognize\u2014you must <em>comprehend<\/em>.<br>You can\u2019t just look\u2014you must <em>see<\/em>.<br>You can\u2019t just extract\u2014you must <em>relate<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the moment you realize:<br>The highlighter was never enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>There are things in life\u2014and in systems\u2014that will let you skate by on shallow recognition, until one day, they ask more of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not more effort.<br>But more <em>depth<\/em>.<br>More <em>presence<\/em>.<br>More of the parts of you that can <em>hold ambiguity<\/em>, <em>track relationships<\/em>, and <em>see the whole through the parts<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the turning point:<br>From scanner to reader.<br>From scribe to storyteller.<br>From syntax to meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some things are not puzzles to be solved.<br>They are <strong>stories to be understood<\/strong>.<br>And some problems do not yield to sharper tools\u2014only to wiser eyes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They hand you a novel and a highlighter. \u201cMark every sentence that starts with \u2018The\u2019.\u201d So you skim.Eyes half-open.Page after page.Mechanical.
