Hospital officials say that the woman shot at her wedding on Saturday is in satisfactory condition.
According to police spokesman, Richard Brunson shot his wife, Laurette, during their wedding reception. For reasons unknown Laurette threw a plate of macaroni salad at Brunson. In turn, Brunson grabbed his .22 calibre handgun and proceeded to shoot Laurette in the abdomen.
Laurette’s three children were also present during the incident. A neighbor, Walter Corse, “heard the sound of the shots. Or so he thought. It was kind of pop pop pop. Then the son came out yelling, ‘She been shot and can’t breathe.’ ”
By the time the police arrived the groom was gone and his whereabouts are still unknown.
