At 9:20 this morning when I was brushing my teeth my roommate Abby said, “good morning” while she was standing in the doorway of my bathroom. Abby looked like she just woke up because her hair was a mess, she was in pajama shorts and a sports bra. I looked at her in the mirror and I said “good morning.” After Abby walked away to go get ready for her day my other roommate, Tiffany came to the doorway of my bathroom looking comfy with sweatpants and a sweatshirt on with her bag on her back ready to leave. Tiffany said “goodbye” while she was walking away when I had mouth wash in my mouth, I waved at her signaling goodbye. When I was done rinsing I shouted “have a good day” to Tiffany as she was walking out the door.
Morningside Mustang Competition Cheer team is working hard for the two- thousand – eighteen two- thousand- nineteen season. Last year the Mustang competition team took 5th at the GPAC tournament and third place at regionals with only two stunt groups. Coach Dakota Van Hauen talks about how the Mustang Competition team is improving and their goal for this upcoming season.

Ellen Degeneres is a very blessed, successful woman. With her own talk show, Ellen DeGeneres is one of America’s most well-known comedians, also serving as a prominent gay/lesbian role model.
I chose Ellen Degeneres because I never knew how she got where she is and I never hear anything bad about her so I wanted to know more about her and her background.
California Fires have killed 44 people with discovery of 13 more bodies. Ally Pierce is a survivor that was trapped by the fire and thought his life was over. Ally made a goodbye video to his family saying his goodbyes. After he was saying his goodbyes a bulldozer knocked the burning car out of Ally’s way giving him enough room to escape. New York Times did a very good job writing this story reeling the audience in emotionally. It had a good anecdote.
Being responsible is important to Katie Polk, a senior from Elgin Nebraska.
Katie Polk shows responsibility in many different ways throughout her day. Katie is responsible to manage kids at the Boys and Girls club in Sioux City Iowa. She mentors them and helps them see light in their day.
Katie also works in the Marketing Department at Morningside College. In the Marketing Department Katie is responsible to guide eight interns. Katie says “Im in charge of making sure people are staying on task to get the project that is assigned done.”
Being responsible for Katie means that being late is not an option. “I hate being late” Katie said. She has to stay on time with her busy schedule while double majoring in Mass communication and Non- Profit Management.
Because Katie is so responsible and always staying on task, she gets to graduate a year early. Responsibility can go a long ways if accept it.
In this story it talks about how Ian David was the gunman who shot over 12 people at Thousands Oaks in California. Ian David was 28 years old and served in the marine corps. This story was organized very good. It didn’t give too much information about what happened right away. They didn’t tell who the suspect was till the second paragraph. Which pulled me in to read more. Later on in the story I really liked how they described when they were talking to the sheriff how is voice was cracking when he was talking to the reporter. When they described the sheriff’s voice it was like I could actually hear his voice cracking when reading the qoute.
USA today said that herbicide has been found in over a dozen cereals and snack bars. Glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup was found in 26 of the 28 products. This story was very easy and interesting to read, because USA put the scientifically words in the article that no one would understand and put it into words that make since. Also its lead was very eye catching because it said something about cancer- linked herbicide has been found in dozens of cereal and cereal bars.
Leonardo a UN Messenger of Peace protrude his thoughts and experiences about Climate Change to United Nations.
“You are the last best hope for Earth” Leonardo DiCaprio said when giving the speech to United Nations about climate change.
Leonardo has been all around the world seeing how climate change is changing the natural balance of our planet. “All that I have seen and learned on this journey has terrified me.” said Leonardo.
“There is no doubt in the world’s scientific community that this a direct result of human activity and that the effects of climate change will become astronomically worst in the future.” Leonardo, believes that our planet cannot be saved unless we leave the fossil fuels where they are.
Climate change is happening faster than scientists warned us about years ago. “Climate change is an impending disaster for living things.”

The Titanic is coming back. People are remaking the exact replica of the Titanic. This news story was very interesting to read the format of the news story made it even better. News.com gave back ground of the original Titanic and how it worked. Then gave pictures showing what the old Titanic looked like inside along what with what the new version of the boat. After the new version of the Titanic is built the will take the same route that the first one did.
