Bailey and Zach.

While out looking for a person to draw me a doodle I ran into a nice man named Bailey. Bailey works in the Krone Center and enjoys pop tarts, as he was eating one when I ran into him. Bailey wore a maroon polo and had khaki pants on, he had dark black hair that rested on his head.

When I talked to him about giving me a doodle he seemed a little confused. After explaining what I needed it for he was more than happy to give me a little doodle. Bailey drew a stick figure man with a side face, he said “I made it sad because I just ran out of coffee.”

Sitting next to Bailey was a man named Zach, Zach also worked in the Krone Center. Zach was curious about our conversation and he gave Bailey a few ideas on what to draw for the doodle, but ultimately Bailey stuck with his stick figure man.

My next thing to find was a restaurant recommendation, so I went ahead and asked Zach. Zach stood up and walked over to the coffee pot before answering, Zach had on similar attire to Bailey.

After thinking for awhile Zach said,”I should give you a bad restaurant, that way it can correlate to the sad stick figure.” Him and Bailey both laughed. Zach recommended I try the Lunchbox restaurant. Zach went on to say that the Lunchbox Burger was worth the drive to Jackson, Nebraska alone.

Aaron Rodgers Out for The Season. (Final)

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was set to lead the Jets to a franchise changing season this year. After his first drive, we’ll be lucky to see Rodgers back in any NFL uniform.

After taking his first sack of the game, Rodgers suffered a season ending Achilles tear. New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh was quoted saying, “the x-ray came back negative, but the MRI should prove our worst fear. Whatever the damage is, it’s not good.”

The first prime time game of the year was a matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets. With the Jets coming off a brutal 7-10 record under quarterback Zach Wilson, a change was needed in the quarterback position.

The Jets went all in this season and traded a first-round draft pick for the 39-year-old veteran quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. After this season ending injury, it seems the Jets are back to starting Wilson.

Now, with this injury taking place on an artificial field, players all around the league are calling for turf to be replaced by grass. Rodgers former teammate David Bakhtiari tweeted out “Congrats @NFL. How many more players must get hurt on ARTIFICIAL TURF? You care more about soccer players than us. You plan to remove all artificial turf for the World Cup coming up. So clearly its feasibly. I’m sick of this. Do better!” This isn’t the first season ending injury that has happened on artificial turf.

No studies have showed that grass is better than artificial turf, however players from the NFL have demanded for grass to be put in place of the turf. Players are quoted saying that grass is more forgiving than turf. Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. came out and said “when you plant and get hit grass will give and allow the leg to slide. When you plant on turf and get hit the turf locks your leg in place increasing the chance for injury.

Even Rodgers not being able to compete, backup quarterback Zach Wilson got the job done in a stunning 22-16 upset win over the Bills. The win was secured by the undrafted free agent Xavier Gibson. Gibson returned a punt for a touchdown after the Bills first possession in overtime.

The Jets season looks to be unclear, with a talented defense and standout receivers it will be interesting to see how they do. Aaron Rodgers has seemed to reshape Wilsons play; however, the Jets still seem to not trust Wilson to throw the ball down field. Coach Saleh said that Wilson will be the starter going forward.

Both of these men are not only facing assault, false imprisonment, and terroristic threats, but they are also being charged with a hate crime notation.

This story is written in a informational format. The story starts off with giving us the facts of the situation then later dives into the details of the assault. I don’t believe that the Omaha World hearld was being bias in any way, they stuck to the facts of the story.

This article is news to the people of Omaha, Sioux City folk might not care but I know people in Omaha that they were concerned about the situation. I personally think this is news because it took place in my home town, with crazy news articles like this coming out, it doesn’t give Omaha the best look.

Trouble with the Tight Ends

Earlier this week Nebraska five-star tight end Arik Gilbert, was arrested on a breaking and entering charge. Arik Gilbert was caught on camera attempting to rob a vape and liquor shop. In totally Arik stole about $1,600 worth of merchandise, and caused $650 in damages. The Lincoln police department was dispatched around 2 a.m. after a call about suspisous activity near the shop. Once they arrived they saw the back door was busted open with a chunk of concrete and found Arik Gilbert walking out with his stolen merchandise in hand.

Arik Gilbert is still waiting for what will be decided in his fate. On one end he very well could see a fine or even jail time due to his actions. On Tuesday Matt Rhule told reporters that upon learning of the arrest he was “obviously really disappointed, really sad”, for Gilbert.

As a recruit Gilbert was ranked sixth in his class, now Gilbert is waiting to see if he will be able to keep his eligibility. Nebraska goes on to play Minnesota this Thursday for the first game of the season. Gilbert will not be attending.

I personaly am a huge Husker fan and this gives the Huskers a bad rep. After coming off a heart breaking season last year, Nebraska fans have to be optimistic about the our new head coach. I for one am drinking the kool-aid. With Gilberts absence I still think we’ll be alright, Thomas Fidone is another tight end on the team that has been waiting for his time to play sense his freshman year. Fidone was the top tight end recruit out of his class but sadly tore both his ACL’s, one his freshman year and one his sophmore.

In conclusion Arik Gilbert trading his scarlet and cream for a court date. We’ll have to see how this situation plays out for Gilbert. I personally hope he comes out on top and learns from his mistakes.
