Homer, a 16-year-old Polar Bear, was found dead in his habitat earlier today.

Homer is referred to as a very curious and playful polar bear. You could often find Homer playing in the snow, or hunting for trout in the child pond. Homer lived with 2 other polar bears, 10-year-old Mckenzie and 9-year-old Yukon. Both Mckenzie and Yukon are healthy bears.

The zoo plans to perform a necropsy to determine the exact cause of death to Homer. Earlier this month a 10-year-old bobcat died due to renal failure, and a 6-year-old giraffe named Kenya had died due to breaking her neck. The zookeepers reported that neither one of these deaths had anything to do with the death of Homer.
