Stuart Scott

Stuart Scott is an ESPN announcer; he is battling cancer while trying to live his life.

Stuarts Scotts speech is both moving and empowering. He speaks with such grace and power that it makes you want to fight for him. In his speech he says “When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner of which you live. So live” This quote is powerful to many, he challenges people to live their best lives, no matter your situation.

Scott talks about how people in his life help him with his fight, he says “fight, and when you are too tired to fight, let someone else fight for you”. He discusses how his loved ones fought for him when he was too weak to fight. His wife would sit in his hospital room with him every night. His daughters would talk with him and keep him going.

Scott goes on to talk about how the greatest thing that he will ever do is not beat cancer, not win this award, but to raise his two daughters. Scott tells his daughters that without them, he wouldn’t be on the stage.

The depth and power that Scott speaks about empowers people to fight whatever they are going through and fight because that’s what we are supposed to do. It may be hard, and it may seem impossible, but when it comes down to it, we must fight.

I’m not sure what you’re going for here, Jack. The present tense and
use of “you” sounds like broadcast style. This is more summary than
“story” or news report. You do have a good selection of quotes, and
    some good paraphrase.
