New Comment 7 NFL Player Gets Charged with Misdemeanor Assault After Shoving Cameraman.

After their loss on October 10th, Raiders Wide Receiver Devante Adams shoved a cameraman on his way to the locker room. This event was caught on cameras on national TV. After the incident, Adams quickly apologized during a post-game interview.

According to the ESPN article, Adams said the shove, “was just frustration mixed with [Zebley] literally just running in front of me.”

While punishment from the NFL will be on hold, Adams could potentially have legal consequences. According to ESPN, Ryan Zebley, the cameraman shoved by Adams, “suffered whiplash, a headache, and a possible minor concussion from the incident…” Zebley filed charges for assault the following Wednesday.

Adams will have court on November 10th. If convicted, he could face up to 6 months in prison or a $1,000 fine.

While most of this article had good sources, there should have been quotes from Zebley. No one knows how he felt about the incident or what he plans of seeing out of these charges. Besides this, the article provides good evidence from the Head coach and Adams.

This news could have some impact on Raiders fans. Adams is their top receiver and having him miss games would give them one less weapon. It also has impact on the league because typically, players wouldn’t have legal punishment from actions like this while they are playing.

As a photographer I’m not sure what to think of this. If it was intentional, sure, sue. But how would he know? Adams apologized. The camera guy was in the way. I haven’t seen video, but I’m skeptical of the injuries. Good comment.
