Transition: In todays world tons of college students are considering if college is even worth it?

College expenses have gone up by more than $5,000 since 2007, adjusting for inflation, resulting in a doubling of the average Federal student loan balance.

Despite the financial challenges of pursuing a degree, recent studies show that, for many Americans, the investment is valuable.

College graduates typically earn higher incomes, and the income difference between those with a college degree and those with only a high school education is growing,

The benefits of a college degree, on average, exceed the costs, with graduates earning about $1.2 million more over their lifetime.

Despite rising college costs, the evidence indicates that, in most cases, a college degree opens up better financial opportunities.
