Scavenger Hunt

I was sent on a scavenger hunt across campus to get a student’s autograph and to talk about current news events with another.

Professor Fuglsang sent us all out on a scavenger hunt at the beginning of class. Every student got a sheet of paper asking them to get two things from people outside the library.

My sheet told me to get a student’s autograph and to talk about current news events with another student. My first thought was to drive over to the dorms and just run into people, and it worked.

I first saw someone studying in the informal room in Dimmit. I just walked up to them and asked if i can asked them some questions for my journalism class and he, Micah, said sure. I asked him to tell me about anything he has seen in the news lately, so naturally we started talking about how aliens and how ” Aliens are coming for us”.

The last person I ran into was Jarrod Nafzinger, I ran into him on my way out of the Dimmit. I asked him for his autograph and he looked surprised and asked why. I told him it was for class and he scribbled his name on it.

The last part of this assignment was to right about my experience, and it was interesting. I thought the autograph one was easy, but I felt like the news one could get me into trouble. I have opinions that I don’t like to keep to myself, so I was happy when Micah wanted to talk about aliens.

This experience has taught me that sometimes asking people questions can be awkward, but I have a feeling just was just a warmup to future interviews in this class.
