Team USA’s basketball team has been on top since they finished in bronze in 2004, but team USA’s isn’t being considered the top dog it once was. Team USA entered the World Cup this year and finished with a record of 5-3, they got fourth place. The 2019 team did even worse and finished seventh.
The World Cup has generally gotten the “B-team” from the U.S. mostly filling their rosters with young stars, but looking at the talent they had on their roster they still should have gotten a medal.
Following this recent disappointment many NBA All-Stars have decided to join the 2024 Paris Olympic team. Players like: LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Anthony Davis.
The goal by these NBA All-Stars is to bring back the supremacy the United States has on basketball. It’s time to let the world know what it is like to actually have the best players in the NBA at the Olympics.
This article was written well the lead was Creating Team USA’s perfect men’s basketball roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics and they did give a perfect men’s basketball roster at the end with players, positions, and an explanation of why them. I don’t know how news worthy this is to the average individual but for a basketball fan like me this is major news. Team USA hasn’t truly brought an A team since the 2008 Redeem Team. One thing that I didn’t like about this article is the fact they didn’t bring up the other reasons that these NBA players are joining the Olympic team. Another main reason these players are joining is because of the remarks made by Noah Lyles. Noah Lyles doesn’t believe that the NBA Champs should not be calling themselves World Champs, and these NBA players want to prove him wrong.
