News Comment #1 Emulating Trump, Ramaswamy Shows a Penchant for Dispensing With the Facts

After a breakout performance in the last Republican debate Vivek Ramaswamy has been accused of falsehoods and scrutiny by many news outlets. The article says “He has spread lies and exaggerations on subjects including the 2020 election results, the Jan. 6 attacks on the Capitol and climate change.” Ramaswamy has said that these interviews and excerpts from his book are taken out of context. Ramaswamy has been found lying about talking about his immigration proposal to a group of mostly Democrats on the South Side of Chicago. A New York Times reporter said that he never brought up his immigration plan. Ramaswamy also was found to lie about his opinion on former president Trump. Ramaswamy said he supported Trump when he was president and will pardon him if he were to win the election. The problem with that is that Ramaswamy wrote a book in 2022 called Nation of Victims: Identity Politics, the Death of Merit, and the Path Back to Excellence, where Ramaswamy had harsh words about Trump. With Ramaswamy becoming more popular in his race for the Republican Nominee it will be interesting to the skeletons in the closet for this new comer to the game of politics.

  1. Open the About Me page. Erase what’s there and write something about yourself. Include a photo. You might also check Customization–Header image to see if you can replace the big gray box.

Keep working on the summary part, Jay. Then include your thoughts on the piece. Why is it news? Is it objective? Does it use good sources. I sent you a link to an article with a different angle on Ramaswami: He doesn’t really care what he says, whether it’s true or practical. He just says what people want to hear, and what gets him attention. That’s the world we live in, I guess.
