How Marvel Can Solve Its Spider-Man Problem in One Movie

An article released by the Hollywood Reporter said that Marvel Studios has signed a deal with Sony to make another Spider-Man movie, confirmed to be released in 2021. If you are a comic book fan, or just enjoy the MCU films this is an article that you’re going to want to read. The content includes the negotiations between Marvel and Sony, the amount that recent marvel movies grossed, as well as a glimpse of what is to come in the near future for the wildly popular franchise. It is an enjoyable article to read because it shows how Tom Hollands’ role as Spider-Man impacts the MCU.

I have to admit, I saw this one coming. I was upset when I heard that the Web-Slinger was going to be taken out of the MCU, but when you think about it, it was probably all just a marketing stunt. These two powerhouse companies know their way around the movie business. I think they planned this whole thing out from the beginning, in order to sell more tickets and merchandise. I suppose when it all comes down to it, we’re all just happy that the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back and hopefully here to stay.

X-Men to the MCU?

September 24, 2019

If you love super heroes like me, then this article is for you. Fans have been awaiting a merger between the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the X-Men for years now, ever since the the MCU was introduced in 2008 when IronMan was first dropped. Recently an artist decided to depict what the X-Men would look like if they ever did join the avengers in battle, and the picture that came from it is exciting.

The article itself talks about the removal of Spider-Man from the Universe, and what we need to replace his character moving on. Obviously the web slinger is irreplaceable and will be sadly missed by everyone who has been paying attention to the series. That being said, the possibilities for Marvels future have so many cool possibilities. I can’t wait to see what they decide to create in the future, and how they may incorporate more of our favorite childhood heroes to the exciting world.

Scavenger Hunt Story

September 19, 2019

Today in Mr. Fuglsangs class we were given an assignment to find two different things. The things I needed were simple, and signature, and I had to have a conversation about a recent news story. So a buddy and I hit the streets.

I found myself at the campus Cafe talking to a worker there. After she signed my assignment paper, she told me about a neat event that is coming up in Sioux City. Morningside will be putting together a presentation to be shown at the library downtown about the 125th Anniversary this year.

“I can’t remember the exact date, but I know it will be downtown” she told me. Unfortunately she was very busy and the interview did not last long.

Reflection of College Cost Post

September 19, 2019

This assignment really helped me better understand the process of news writing. I found that I am not where I need to be in terms of writing a well-rounded story. Most of what I write about includes “I” or “me” which I have found is quite frowned upon. My whole scholastic career I have been writing in first person context, and it is quite hard to break this bad habit. It is an entirely different thought process when it comes to writing news stories.

It is interesting to see the difference between the way I have been writing and the way we are being taught in class. I enjoy projects like these because it gives me a new perspective on how to write in different ways, in order to better my vocabulary and sentence structure. During this assignment, I have realized that there is plenty work to do in order to be successful at this style of writing.

A Win For the Yak!

September 15, 2019

This is the story of a Yak in Virginia who was on the way to a slaughterhouse, but it had different plans. I enjoyed this article because of its humorous topic. The thought of an escaped yak does not seem to be an everyday conversation topic. The article itself is easy to read and to the point (my kind of story). If you are looking for an easy read to brighten your day look no further. The article is very short but worth the read.

Attending college is a decision that can affect anybody’s life in a positive way. College can be a great tool to further a career, or to start a career. While enrolled, people have the opportunity to learn multiple different skill sets that they will be able to execute for the rest of their adult lives.

Nonetheless, college is not for everyone. Yet, today everyone seems to believe that higher education is a necessity to be a successful adult.

In a story written about a study done in June of last year, CNBC reported that less than half of college graduates get a job related to their major. Furthermore, it was found that more than forty percent of college graduates take a job that does not require a college degree.

This means that over forty percent of all the people with a degree in America attended college for no reason.

The rising cost of college is obviously a compilation of a multitude of things ranging from price inflation, to the insanely high demand for schooling today. Yet, costs have gone much higher than what seems to be reasonable to an average citizen.

The Patriot Post reads; “As measured by the Consumer Price Index, the cost of college since 1985 has increased at nearly quadruple the rate of inflation. In a single decade from 2007 to 2017, college tuition skyrocketed 63%, school housing 51%, and textbooks 88%”.

The drastic rise in the cost of college makes sense because of the immense pressure that young people in America have to get a college degree. In many cases this pressure is passed to the younger generations by their parents, who believe that if their child does not get a college degree they will fail in life.

In some cases, this is a serious issue, but it seems that there are not many people who speak out about it, but there are some people who have taken notice.

Mike Rowe, who hosted the popular TV show “Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe”, had this to say “Seven million jobs are available now; most of them don’t require a four-year degree,” he stated. “They require training. And yet we’re obsessed, not really with education, you know.”

Rowe went on to explain “What we are obsessed with is credentialing. And so, people are buying diplomas. And they’re buying their degrees. It’s a diploma dilemma, honestly. It’s expensive. It is getting worse. It’s not just the kids holding the note. It is us.”

“Us” in this instance, is referring to the average tax paying in American.

“Eating to Energize”

September 10, 2019

This is a helpful and easy to read article found on apple news, about how certain foods can help you stay energized and focused throughout the day. These “Superfoods” as I like to call them, are not necessary to your diet, but if included in your everyday diet, you can boost your energy and positivity. The article explains clearly what each food can provide for your well being. It also explains what vitamins the food gives you and the benefits of eating each. If you are looking to change things up in your diet, I recommend reading this article for a good solid change in your everyday diet.

We all have good times and bad times hen it comes to eating right. Personally, I notice a very big difference when I am eating right. As an athlete, I believe that a good diet is the most important thing when it comes to success physically. There are so many people who are struggling to get off that layer no matter how hard they work, and the problem is their diet. America is so good at giving people bad food, and everybody buys it because it is cheap and quick. Everybody is in such a big hurry these days that it seems healthy food has been brushed off. Eating healthy does not have to be hard. This short article is a good place to start turning your diet around.

A man from Odessa Texas was fired from his job on Saturday and did not take it well. After losing his job he decided to drive down the road and start to randomly shoot at pedestrians, killing seven innocent people. Shortly after the man was shot and killed by authorities. I hate reading about things like this because people weren’t taught the value of human life. Most of us as children were taught that everybody matters and deserves to be happy, but some people did not get the memo. There is absolutely no excuse to take another human’s life in a situation like this. In my opinion, the people who are committing these horrific acts were not raised right, and don’t know what it is like to have repercussions for their actions. I have no sympathy for this man being killed in this interaction with the police. anybody who has no problem killing innocent Americans should have no problem getting the same consequences brought upon them.
