Isabel's blog

Hi everyone, my name is Isabel and I am a Junior / Senior at Morningside. Credit wise I am still a junior for now, but I will be done with my bachelor’s this May because I am going to do it in three years.

I am from Zaandam, a place near Amsterdam in the Netherlands. I grew up with my little sister and brother. My brother lives in Belgium to play Basketball and he is in High School there. My sister still lives at home. She finished High School last year and is now taking a gap year. I always love to go home during the winter and summer break to see my family and friends again. If you are planning to go to Europe one time, you should definitely visit the Netherlands. It is so different from the USA, but so nice!

I came to Morningside to play soccer and I am a goalkeeper. I am really excited about the team we have this year. It is nice that we have so many different cultures on the team. We have girls from Denmark, Germany, Sweden, and this year even from New Zealand.

My major is Business Administration and I have a minor in Sports Management and Marketing. I am also thinking about a minor in Advertising. This year, I am part of the Business Honors program, which will be a lot of work, but also a good learning experience.

Besides school and soccer, I like to hang out with friends. I love to play games. It does not matter what kind of game. Card games? Bowling? Sports game? I am all in for that. I also like to discover new places. Last year during Spring break I went with a some friends to Hawaii. That was so cool. The nature was amazing but maybe my favorite part was the food. I am a big fan of Poke and Acai Bowls and they have so much of that.
