Tragic Loss at Midland Zoo as Oldest Polar Bear Found Dead
In a heartbreaking incident, Homer, the oldest polar bear at Midland Zoo, was discovered lifeless in the bear exhibit pool this morning by zookeeper Sara N. Getty. The 16-year-old bear, known for his playful demeanor, was found just an hour after his regular feeding.
Zookeeper Sara N. Getty expressed her sorrow, saying, “Homer was a very curious and playful polar bear, and we will miss him terribly.”
