Striker Vivianne Miedema is set to return to the Dutch national team, known as Oranje, after a thirteen-month absence due to a severe knee injury. Dutch women’s national team coach Andries Jonker has selected Miedema, along with 23 others, for the upcoming Nations League matches against Scotland on October 27 and 31. Jonker indicated that Miedema has been training with her club, Arsenal, and will also join the national team’s training sessions. Depending on her progress, she may be considered for the matches against Scotland.

In addition, Feyenoord goalkeeper Jacintha Weimar has been included in the squad despite a subpar performance in the last international match against Belgium, which resulted in a 2-1 loss. Jonker defended the decision, highlighting Weimar’s strong performance during the World Cup and stating that one mistake would not diminish her abilities.

The Dutch team currently holds three points in the Nations League after a loss to Belgium and a surprising victory against Sarina Wiegman’s England, a former World Cup finalist. The group winner will secure qualification for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris next year.

I think this article uses the right sources. They asked the head coach for comments and used his quotes in the article. They also used some statistics to support their arguments. I would say this article is well-written and provides all the information people need.

This is a short story, but I get the sense this may have been a controversial decision. Should there have been more, or is this just news everyone knows?
