Turner Model

I found ready about the Turner Model difficult. The reading was just hard to comprehend. After discussing it more in class it became more clear to me and I came to really agree with it. I like the idea how we are always trying new things and seeing what it out there in the world for us to explore. But after we explore we must go back and apply that to our everyday life. This is what makes a more round about person. It was very easy to see how the Turner Model really applies to us all. The movie clips in class showed how it is all around us. We just need to be able to identify it.

I also found the reading about the Turner Model to be very difficult! After discussing it in class with the diagram, and watching those videos I really understood it better. I can also see how this model can apply to pretty much everyone. I think that pretty much every person goes through a time in their life when they have to leave their comfort zone and go out into the world not knowing what is going to happen. I think that it’s just a way of life. It also makes life a little more interesting, because if you always know what you’re going to do and what’s coming next, how fun would that be? It may be uncomfortable and unsettling at times, but you can always return back to that comfort zone as the model explained. I think that Jessica’s example with going through high school, then going off to college meeting new people then returning really helped me to understand this model so much better. Are there any other examples from you’re life where you have experienced this transition?
