New York Times Article: Spanish Women’s Squad Refuses to Play Until Soccer Chief Resigns
I decided to read this article because I am really interested in sports, especially soccer. When the women’s world cup came around many fans were interested to see who would win. Spain ended up winning the cup but after the celebrations something happened. The Chief of the federation kissed a player without their consent. In this article it is explained with quotes from the player Jennifer Hermoso stating that “in no moment she consented to that kiss”. On the other hand Mr Rubiales the chief of the spanish federation said that he would not step aside. As a result the players won’t come back to play for Spain if Rubiales remains in power. What I think of this article is that Rubiales should step aside. I think this because what he did was wrong. If in no moment there was consent for him to do that then why disrespect the player and invade her private space. If he does not resign it will also bring chaos to the team who just won the world cup, the players would not return which would cause turmoil inside the team and the federation.

Who is the fellow in the Photo? He’s rather large.
