There was an explosion this morning at the Mega City Mall. Reports from the scene state that there were initial injuries resulting from the explosion were less than 100 people and the injured were transferred to St. Mercy and Jean-Luc hospitals to receive treatment. There were 2 dead and have been identified but names will not be released. Frisky Cream Donut shop and the movie theater had the most damage from the explosion. There is no evidence saying that it was anything but an accident.

An employee at Combat Training said “was just at work and felt the whole building shake”. Another eyewitness who prefers to stay anonymous said ” I didn’t know this was gonna happen today, if did I wouldn’t have skipped school. I kinda just ran and fled the scene.”

A statement from the mall. Today our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured, and with their families. Mall staff are working hand in hand with police and law enforcement to sour out this morning’s events. We will find answers and we will keep the public informed of our investigation.

For the moment, however, the mall will be closed until engineers can assess the stability of the mall’s structure. Be assured, however, that the mall will reopen in time for everyone to complete their holiday shopping. The holidays are an important time for families to come together and celebrate the season.
