There was an armed robbery at 450 Stanley Street at 8:30 pm last night. Two men entered the store wearing ski masks, one man held a gun on Barney Joseph the owner while the other stole $382.65 from the register. Then they left the store.
Joseph told desk sergeants that he kept a pistol under the counter, but he chose not to use it. Joseph told the police the robbery was over in less than a minute and he thought it was unwise to use his pistol.
When looking through clips under Joseph’s name and noticed that his father was killed during a holdup at the same store. Then called Joseph if he remembered the events he said “Yes, Dad resisted, I guess. Anyway, they found him shot to death, his own gun in his hand, and a bullet in the store’s ceiling. I’d rather part with my money than my life.”
