Plane Crash Kills 5 People

Plane crashed on takeoff at Kennedy International Airport. There were 45 passengers and crew members aboard among them 5 people were killed.

Associate professor of rural sociology John Dumont and associate professor of English George Johnson, both from Backwater State University. They were returning Thursday night from separate conferences in New York City. It crashed on takeoff at Kennedy International Airport. 45 passengers and crew members were aboard. Among them 5 people were killed. The Backwater State University professors escaped injury.

Backwater State University changes curriculum

President David French announces changes in graduation requirements. Because a recent study showed only 15% students took foreign language course and only 20% took a math course while at Backwater State University.

Students entering next fall (2023) must take one math, computer science, and foreign language course. The president said “We feel that these new course requirements will allow us to turn out better educated people.”

Daughter of local prominent attorney arrested for driving under the influence.

Cathy Wensen, daughter of Jim Wensen and Sharon Wensen. Is a 22-year-old senior at Vanderbilt University for study in biology.

Cathy was this year’s homecoming queen, has been a cheerleader, and a straight A student. She was arrested last night for driving under the influence of alcohol for the third time in six months.
