This news article is written by the New York Times and it discusses the effects of Hurricane Idalia on Florida’s Big Bend Region. Big Bend Region is roughly established in the north-south portion of the Florida peninsula curves toward the east-west portion of the Panhandle. And it was predicted Idalia could bring 12 feet of storm surge to the area.

Ceder Key in the Big Bend Region and the people of Ceder Key was ordered to evacuate on Monday along with other costal area. The people of Ceder Key did not listen to the order. And had to prepare for the chance that the one road of town might get taken out along with the power, water, and pumping could be out for a while.

While I do think this article was unbiased I believe it could have been more informative. By talking about the predicted damage the hurricane could cause and precaution people who do not want to evacuate take to be safer.

OK overall, Emma. Good summary. OK on length.
Last graf: Possibly, but think about audience. The NYT is a national newspaper, but the people affected by Idalia needed instant info, which probably meant local TV and radio, and maybe a newspaper.
I think I read something about local media in Fla and Cedar Key doing a pretty good job.
