Intro. to Religion-What is Religion?

The more and more we study about different religions, pilgrimages, and definitions of religions, the more unclear the definition of religion is to me. It seems to me that there can be many different definitions. We haven’t even studied all the world religions and almost every definition we have seen conflicts with some form of religion. That is why we have had to come up with a list of elements of religions like we have. I don’t know if there is an exact qualification for something to be a religion based on how many elements from the list it has. The list does help us analyze what could be and what is a religion though. Determining whether something is a religion or not cannot not be a set answer for everyone. I think we have to analyze each situation ourselves. This leads into one of our prompts for the project. If we analyze “religions” and if they are religions, we must set some elements from our list more important than others. This is exactly what we are supposed to do in that prompt. We are supposed to then analyze why this/these element(s) are more important.
