Today, October 12, at 8:50 a.m. the City of Mega City Police Department and the Mega City Mall reported an explosion in the food court, specifically at Frisky Cream Donuts. The policed department reported two fatalities, both men. Also reported were a lesser number of 100 injuries, all of which have been transported to St. Mercy and Jean Luc Hospitals, reports from both health centers showed that the injuries consisted of fire and smoke inhalation. Besides Frisky Donuts Cream, the movie theater and Penny Dre suffered major damage.

The police managed to collect a video from the food court camera where the explosion can be seen.

Johannes Lang, a Frisky Cream Donuts employee, reported from Jean Luc Hospital on his Twitter account that he saw the explosion with his eyes, and that by a miracle of a divine force, he is alive.

The motive of the explosion has not yet been determined, but so far, there is no other motive than an accident. The Mega City Police Department established a special team of investigators that will work alongside federal law enforcement agencies, The Mall will be closed over the weekend, and it’s expected to re-open this upcoming Monday.

The writer of this article does sports at the mall, specifically mall walking, today I had a work commitment and could not go in the morning which is the time I usually go.  But my story falls short next to that of Isabel Ter Weeme, an employee of one of the stores in the food center of Mega City Mall.

Her story starts at 6:30 in the morning when she gets up to go to her job which is 1 hour away from her home, Isabel starts her morning by eating and taking a shower, her showers are usually short, so she must leave at 7 to get to work early, today for her good fortune, she stayed in the shower longer than usual, singing Taylor Swift songs!

Isabel said, “I stayed in the shower for 40 minutes, I didn’t notice the time and I was late to get to work, when I arrived, I found the mall was closed and my co-workers were in the hospital, Taylor Swift saved my life”

Jon Coronado, owner of a barbershop in Sioux City, Iowa, says he’s been asked at least 50 times to get this haircut. “People walk by my barbershop and show me this photo over and over again, I’ve even posted 3 photos related to this haircut, so people come in, sit in the chair, and point out the haircut. Then they trust me even more to do the haircut.”

As Coronado explained, “This cut is even easier for guys with wavy hair because the layers will allow you to lean into your texture, which seems to have a mind of its own, I’m sure a lot of guys will be sporting this style next year”

I was so nervous that I wouldn’t like how the layered, retro hairstyle looks with my straight hair, but I loved the results, “Shags are such a great style if you want low maintenance and easy,” The fun part about this cut is that you can style it differently or leave it to dry on its own, this cut works great on every face shape and hair type and adds a more youthful appearance. – Guillermo Roman, a Morningside Student from Ecuador, who recently had this haircut.

At seven this morning, Homer, our sixteen-year-old polar bear, was discovered unconscious and later declared deceased.

The other two bears, Yukon and McKenzie, who are nine and ten years old, were taken out of the exhibit and are under the care of veterinary professionals.

“We will do everything in our power to determine how this bear died,” said Chris P. Bacon, director of the Zoo.  “Animal welfare and the preservation of species are our primary goals here at the zoo.”

Since 1985, polar bears have thrived at the zoo. The bears can grow in their natural habitat at our special sanctuary, where they can play in artificial snow, dress in gravel, and hunt trout in the cool pool. As representatives of their wild cousins, the bears inform zoo guests about these endangered species.

The cause of death will be attempted to be determined through a necropsy, but the results won’t be known for a few weeks.
