So, I can connect his ideas to my life quite easily; for example the rites and rituals that my whole entire community performs such as baptisms, Christmas, or praying. All of these items have to do with Durkheim’s idea of rites and rituals, and they also have to deal with idea that religion is part of communities. Most of the activities are done in front of the congregation or they are mentioned and we have days set aside to celebrate them in church . In my church, during baptisms, the congregation has to answer the question if we will raise the child or person in a good and healthy Christian environment. This is just evidence that religion is a part of my community and we are to support other Christians.

My Christian denomination is Methodist and it has things that are considered to be taboos. Actually all Christians have the Ten Commandments that are taboos, and we are not supposed to perform those acts. It is believed that if a person preformed the acts they will be judged and possibly go to Hell.

After reading about all four of those highly acknowledged theorists my thought of religion was changed a little bit.
