Can Democrats Win Back Latino Voters by Treating Them Like Everyone Else?

The story from the NYT today spoke on Latino voters being crutial for winning the White House this year. Latinos remain one of the fastest-growing groups of voters.

  • Story twist 1: feature on Latino people around. Why have they been voting more? What message do they want to hear from the republican side, or democratic side to receive their votes.
  • Story 2: Feature on democratic side and what promises they are holding onto to secure their votes
  • Story 3: Feature on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, one of the party’s biggest Latina stars. What she has done to get to where she is, and how she wants to help the Latino culture.
  • Story 4: What difference does social class make in voting? Is everyone getting the same information day to day? Feature on upper class, middle, and lower class people to see how they live.
  • Story 5: The story stated Latino’s poll shows that their top policy concerns largely mirror those of other voters. Prioritizing jobs and the economy over immigration. – Find out why. Dig deeper and feature more Latino people to understand their culture better.

If I was to pick from the new list, I would choose story 4. This makes me curious to know if voters think differently about our world, because of their class. Do they get the same features? Stay just as informed? I would think so, but I don’t know. Then looking further down to those parents child, how does the class affect them and what they think about our White House.

The Secret MVP of Sports? The Port-a-Potty

The characteristics of this article are to me witty, light, and fun. It was a strange, but funny read. Speaking about port-a-potties as such a savior in our game-day lives. The dread we all feel of having to go in there, but do it anyways because it’s the last resort. I think the structure of this story is leaning towards the Martini Glass method. It gets you hooked in right away with what they’re talking about with some banter and jokes, then hits you with the reality of the situation, then back to just more light jokes. The story is really just about the horrors of having to use an on the go bathroom, but seems to want to entertain for the articles main purpose.

This trail was a steep, muddy climb for possibly some deer to get to open grassy ground by bacon creek. (low angle)

  1. the photos that we went over in class, after looking at them I believe the first photo of Putin and the other men walking is the survival theory photo. This is survival because it is bringing attention to it and making us aware of their friendship.
  2. The second photo of Trump on stage to me was an expression photo because it gives me a response. I am not a Trump fan so I see him trying to look patriotic when he isn’t. This photo does not give me a lot of meaning or feelings besides anger towards Donald Trump.

To start the day off fresh, I wash my face with this Cetaphil daily facial cleanser.

Now I go to the caf and make sure all of my work is done for the day.
Finally, time to relax and watch T.V. with my roommate Ellie.
Getting ready for basketball practice, this is what my entire day revolves around.
Basketball is typically pretty tough, so I treated myself to some dessert at the caf.
Winding down with some painting at the end of the day to relax.
