Classmate Interview

If you don’t see him coming, then you’ll definitely…just kidding you’ll definitely see him coming. At a casual six-foot-eight Jarron Jurgens is what many would call a gentle giant.  Jay, as Jurgens’ friends refer to him, turned twenty-one this past summer and boy does he love it. When he’s home, he likes to go golfing and to the VFW where he gets a Moscow Mule.  His favorite food? Pizza. Which makes sense when you consider the fact that Jay will not eat vegetables, or any kind of casserole, which is shocking given that he is from Brandon, South Dakota. He likes Bruno Mars and Naruto when it comes to entertainment, and the Hawkeyes on Saturday and Broncos on Sunday for football.

Jay puts his height to use on the Morningside basketball team, a sport he also played in high school, along with tennis. Jay wears a size 15 shoe, which is ‘not very easy to find’. Though Jay’s height may set him apart for the general population, he fits right in with his family. Jay and his siblings are all above average height. “I have an older brother, he’s a ginger.” I would like to make the point that Jay wanted to pick his direct quote. Jay also has a little sister but did not want to include her while I was interviewing him.

Jay’s personality draws people into his circle, including his best friend, Jarrod. Yes, their names are actually Jarrod and Jarron. They are also roommates and in their room, they have a fire-breathing Godzilla next to their xbox.

Jay wears a bracelet with an acronym that means “Jesus probably wouldn’t have gotten himself into this situation in the first place.” And I think that sums up Jay Jurgs as a person perfectly.
