Instead, State Troopers will be issued only the transmitters on the outside of their cars now.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This ban comes from a few claims that officers in Cedar Rapids had developed forms of cancer, which has startled many troopers across Iowa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adam Smith, the spokes person for South Iowa HP stated, &#8220;The feeling here is to go on the side of caution until more is known about the issue,\u201d Smith said. \u201cThe whole situation is under review.\u201d The ban on radar guns is a better option than leaving his troopers exposed to a health risk that could be avoided. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>South Iowa Highway patrol released on Wednesday, September 2nd that over 70 radar guns will be removed from the services of State Troopers because the radio waves coming from the gun are being further investigated about the relation to the waves and cancer.
