The Amendment, legalizing recreational marijuana usage, transportation and distribution, passed. the 53-47 margin in which the amendment won, made the state the 14th in the country to legal recreational weed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drey Samuelson, political director for South Dakotans for Better Marijuana Laws said, &#8220;We had full confidence that a majority of South Dakotans, if given the opportunity to vote on (marijuana), would realize the economic, health and social justice benefits of marijuana reform. And they did.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With South Dakota being a political red state and more strict on drug laws, it was a shock to see the state come around and flip. Some people not in favor of the law includes republican Govenor Kristi Noem, who says, &#8220;I&#8217;ve never met someone smart who&#8217;s smoked pot.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Constitutional amendemnt make the vote a staple in making it happen. Pretty major news for a small state like South Dakota. Got my attention right away. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The audience is mainly for people living in South Dakota.
