2 Charged With Murder in Day Care Death of 1-Year-Old
The owner of the day care center in the Bronx and a neighbor were charged with the death of Nicholas Dominici, who never woke up from a nap. Police said they believed he had been exposed to an opioid.
Emergency medical workers arrived to find Nicholas Dominici unconscious. They also found a 2-year-old boy and an 8-month-old girl, both unconscious and unresponsive. All three children showed symptoms of opioid exposure, the police said. They gave the children Narcan, the overdoes-reversal medication and took them to the hospital. Nicholas was pronounced dead at Montefiore Medical Center, and the other three children were in critical or stable condition.
This article is really well written. This is a sensitive topic, so you have to be careful in how you share this information. I like how this article is very clear about what happened. I also like how they describe the dangers of opioids for both children and adults.
