Reality competition TV shows, such as “Dancing with the Stars”, has seen an increase in popularity. This season, they saw an increase of 1.72 million viewers during the season premiere. This placed them ahead of other shows such as “The Voice” and “America’s Got Talent”.
I talked with senior, Allison Johnson, to find out why she loves the show. “I think it’s fun to see their improvement each week. By the end, it’s hard to believe these people had little or no previous dance experience.”
Season 32 of “Dancing with the Stars” wrapped up with a shocking twist during the semifinals elimination. For the first time in “Dancing with the Stars” history, five couples advanced to the finale to compete for the Mirrorball Trophy. This also lead to a major increase of viewers for the finale.
I also met with sophomore, Sam Sonier, who has been a lifelong fan of “Dancing with the Stars”. “I have always loved watching the show with my family. We even went to their live tour in Omaha to see them perform in person.”
The season ended with Marvel star Xochitl Gomez taking home the trophy.
