Maren is patient. She was working at a firework stand in the summer of 2019. She sold a bunch of fireworks to a man on the Fourth of July. The next day, this man came back and demanded a refund. He claimed that this firework stand was responsible for blowing off his hands, but he clearly had no physical injury to his hands. Maren calmly said that she could give him a partial refund or she could call her manager, who was out of town. He said he wanted to speak to a manager. She called her manager and calmly tried to talk the man down while she drove to the store.
The man did not get his money back.
I have not worked retail since I was a teenager. I don’t remember
any specific stories of problem customers. But I can’t imagine
having to deal with someone who was so obviously a moron.
I would like to here more from Maren about this man’s demeanor.
