Description Extra Credit

I took myself shopping and bought a book I normally would not buy. The book was on sale the day I bought it, so I thought “why not.” There was no better time than now to try out a book that is different from what I normally read. When I first saw the sale sign, I felt overjoyed and excited. Books are fairly expensive and rarely go on sale. This sale was an early Black Friday deal. I slowly and carefully scanned the shelves until I saw a book that caught my eye.

I looked for a copy that was in perfect condition. No bend pages or scratches on the cover. I dug to the back of the pile and found my book. When I picked up the book, it felt light and the cover was smooth. The pages were floppy but the spine was sturdy. I put the book in my basket and proceeded to check out.

The book I purchased has been recommended to me by my best friend for quite some time. I am excited to read it and be able to talk about the story with her.

  1. I can say with confidence no one has bought a book for this
assignment in the past. Not a lot of opportunity for sensory
description. Does it have that new book smell?

Since books seem to have significant meaning for you, maybe
    something on that.
