Murder by an Indian on Canadian Soil

Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that “agents of the government of India” planned an assassination of a Sikh community leader in British Colombia. India replied to the accusation and called it “absurd.”

Canada later announced that they expelled an Indian diplomat who was said to be the head of India’s intelligence agency in Canada. India accused the Canadians of sheltering Khalistani terrorists and extremists that threaten the security of India.

This accusation is likely to diminish relations between Canada and India. Canada has already suspended negotiations on a trade deal that was to be set this year. Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi eluded Trudeau from a list that was filled with leaders whom he had bilateral meetings with.

Many Indians living in Canada were fearful of this assault. the Indian population makes up roughly 4% of Canada’s entire population, most of them are Sikhs. The Two Ministers are not clear on. their remarks forward on what the Indian government will do with their cooperation with this allegation. Rumors about possible retribution by India are still in the air. Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative party stated that “If these allegations are true, they represent an outrageous affront to Canada’s sovereignty.” This act could cause much trouble between the two nations within time.

A tragedy occurred Thursday night leaving 5 people dead and many injured. A TWA jet anticipated take off when the plane malfunctioned and crashed on the runway. There was 45 passengers and crew members on board.

Our very own John Dumont, and George Johnson luckily survived with little to no injury. They were able to board a new flight and make it home the next day. JFK is assessing damages to the tarmac and the Trans world airlines has taken the black box from the plan to understand why and how the plane malfunctioned. They gave their sympathies to the family and friends of the lost loved ones and assured them that they are taking the issue very seriously. More stil to come on the Tarmac crash.

New Curriculum change for the better, or worse?

Backwater State university just released a statement that they are planning on changing the curriculum for the upcoming fall semester. They announced that incoming freshman are required to take a math class, computer science, and a foreign langue class to graduate.

President David French mentioned that “we feel that these new course requirements will allow us to turn out better-educated persons.” This was released after finding showed that only 15 percent of students were taking advantage of the foreign language courses offered and only 20 percent of students took math classes. President French believes that by making these mandates. Students are going to have a more, well-rounded education while at Backwater State. Do you agree with this?

Homecoming Queen at Vanderbilt partied a little too hard

Cathy Wensen, 22-year-old senior was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. This is her 3rdoffense which landed her a night in the prison cell. Cathy was anticipated to graduate this year with a biology major as a straight A student, while also being on the cheerleading squad, and this year’s Homecoming queen.

Cathy is from Ontario, Canada where her mother Sharon Wensen still resides, With Cathy being an international student it causes a little bit of conflict with her being arrested. Why Traveling is good for people (FINAL)

From New York’s skyscrapers, through Tokyo’s alley’s, to the Sahara Desert; the world is too big to not go catch a glimpse of what there is to offer. One perk of traveling is it can be done alone! There is precautions to it and the main goal is to be safe, but It’s one of those things that you just have to do it and not think. Buy that plane ticket, take that train ride, do something spontaneous because those are the best trips. No expectations, no plans, just winging it.

A World of Travel says that “Traveling’s important because it gives you a break from the norm.” A World of Travel. The statement motivates someone to get out of the comfort zone and try something new. Going somewhere new helps the brain learn new things that the world can offer. It’s incredibly difficult to try and describe a scenery or show pictures to people and hope they see the same thing. Because it is not possible. Traveling opens the mind to new things that people might not have known were actually real or that feels surreal in the moment.

Traveling helps someone understand who they are as a person. Spend life traveling says that “It’s not hard to learn about yourself when you’re forced into tricky spots and come through the other side.” Spend Life Traveling. people learn how to overcome obstacles and push through challenges. There’s always a strong possibility that there will be some problems while on the trip, but the best thing to do is go with the flow and ask other people how to go about the situation. there’s no point to just sit in the airport and pout and think things will go in the right direction. everyone just has to adjust and learn to think on the fly. Sometimes the best things happen after an issue occurs. It goes back to the spontaneous aspect mentioned earlier. there’s a chance a detour might happen for a few days in a place not on the to-do list. Might as well make the most out of the time there. Go out and visit some place, try some new food, experience the local culture. Everything happens for a reason. so now its time to book that flight, train ticket, bus pass, what ever ticket it is to get to the destination!

Are State Troopers in Danger of Getting Cancer?

Have you ever takin a drive along the highway and saw a cop sitting on the side of a road or under a bridge? Well, the main reason for them to do this is to track your speed to make sure there are no dangerous drivers on the highways. Turns out, there are concerns that those hand held radar guns are putting state troopers at risk of getting cancer.

Two months ago, three municipal offers filed workers compensation claims saying that they developed cancer from using the hand held radar guns. This is an important issue for the East Dakota Highway Patrol to prevent any other troopers getting cancer.

Adam Smith, Spokesman of the Highway patrol had to say “The feeling is to err on the side of caution until more is known about the issue,” smith said. “The whole situation is under review.”

This is the first Highway patrol that has started to experience this issue. it is yet to be released if the issue is because of faulty produced products from the issuer, or if the technology of radar guns as a whole puts all troopers in danger of cancer. More is still to come on the situation.

What Happened to Running backs in the NFL?

Since the year 2000, the position of Running backs in the NFL have slowly become less important, and in return, causes less pay. For many early years in the NFL, Running backs have been a prime position. As the game started evolving, the passing game started to become more prominent.

Many running backs are having an issue with the ‘change in the game’ becuause it is effecting their salary. According to the article “The 32 highest-paid running backs made an average of $5 million. But the average pay of a top-32 offensive lineman last year was $16.9 million.”

The main reason for this change is that teams want a stronger offensive line to protect the quarterback more so that he can get a good pass off. the article also mentioned that with a stronger offensive line, there’s not much of a difference between a starting and a backup running back in performance.

Even though the new generation of the NFL is more of a passing league, some aspects of the game haven’t changed quite too much. the article states, “In 2000, rushing attempts accounted for 46 percent of all offensive snaps and 35 percent of all yards. In 2022, rushing attempts accounted for 45 percent of offensive snaps and 35 percent of all yards.” This shows that percentage of yards by a running back and snaps are still standing fairly consistent, despite changes in salary and offensive playbooks.

I feel that this article was fairly spot on with the assumptions and arguments that they were making. Many running backs have already lashed out their anger or disappointment on social media accounts. They feel that they aren’t valued as much as other players anymore and feel that they deserve higher pays, as well as, understanding that their prime years as a player won’t likely continue through their late 20s.

Is it Bud light? Is it Coors? No, It’s Modelo!

As many people are aware, Bud Light made a very interesting choice when deciding to target the younger generation with their ads. When they decided to hire a transgender person as a brand ambassador all hell broke loose. Many stores were BARELY selling any bud light, some dive bars completely got rid of it from their inventory, and the Bud Light brand itself took a major hit, one that’s still not being recovered from

After Bud Light lost their ranking as the top beer in the nation (for over a decade) Modelo Especial came from behind to take the #1 spot. Other American brewed beers such as Coors, Miller Lite, or Michelob Ultra still rose drastically in sales, but them as well were not able to keep up with Modelo’s record breaking sales. The article mentions that “For Constellation itself, this victory can partly be chalked up to simple luck, but only partly.” They continue on to talk about how lucky Constellation was for purchasing the rights to sales in the U.S. for not only Modelo, but Pacifico and corona as well. They have put a lot of work into marketing into Modelo for it to be competing with AB Inbev in the #1 spot for the foreseeable future.

About me

Hello, My name is Brian Nathaniel. Currently I am a senior at Morningside University, Majoring in B.S. of Marketing. After I graduate I plan to become a real estate agent

I was born in Wichita, Kansas, but have lived in Sioux City since I was 4 years old. I always told myself that I would never go to Morningside for the shear fact that it was in Sioux City. After my first visit to Morningside, I met with some professors and staff and I was sold right away. I truly felt like this was the university that was meant for me.

This summer I got the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka for a few weeks, which is where this picture was taken. My dad is from there and it is where a lot of my family still lives. While we were there we were able to see many parts of the small island as well as meet up with some family that I haven’t seen in many years. We are hoping to maybe go back again in March!

Story of Winyou

Winyou is a 21-year-old, 5ft 11in male from a city in Thailand that is incredibly hard to pronounce without the help of a local. Winyou has a passion for tennis and sadly had to miss out for the end of the last season. He had to get surgery on his knee and now is finally recovering after a long summer without tennis.

Speaking of a long summer, Winyou and his girlfriend had a traumatic breakup after just over a year of dating. After they talked for a while, they both decided that the long distance was too hard to work through and they would both be better off without each other.

While Winyou had some free time this summer, he decided to get his first tattoo. He got a pretty cool horse on his right shoulder. He said that even though it hurt a little bit, the finished product was definitely worth it.

Going into the school year, Winyou is feeling a little bit of pressure with the transition into senior year. He has a tough schedule ahead of him, but he feels that he is prepared for the workload.

Along with the school year, Winyou is doing an internship with the tennis team. He is going to be an assistant coach and help the head coach with conducting drills, scheduling tennis matches, and helping the coach with any other help he might need that will prepare Winyou to coach tennis in the future.  He is excited for this year, and ready to graduate in May.
