After Bud Light lost their ranking as the top beer in the nation (for over a decade) Modelo Especial came from behind to take the #1 spot. Other American brewed beers such as Coors, Miller Lite, or Michelob Ultra still rose drastically in sales, but them as well were not able to keep up with Modelo’s record breaking sales. The article mentions that “ForĀ ConstellationĀ itself, this victory can partly be chalked up to simple luck, but only partly.” They continue on to talk about how lucky Constellation was for purchasing the rights to sales in the U.S. for not only Modelo, but Pacifico and corona as well. They have put a lot of work into marketing into Modelo for it to be competing with AB Inbev in the #1 spot for the foreseeable future.
