Former President Castillo announced plans to dissolve Congress and install an emergency government, to prevent the looming impeachment vote by lawmakers. In his case this didn’t work because Dina Boluarte became Peru\u2019s first female President on wednesday after the former president was arrested. Either way Castillo was going to leave office because out of the 130 lawmakers 101 voted to have him impeached. This arrest of the president is also good because the United States is now urging the leader to \u201creverse\u201d the move and \u201callow Peru\u2019s democratic institutions to function according to the Constitution. If this does get reversed then the United States could possibly try and get someone who holds power in office and open up more trade and possibly economic trade, which Peru leads the world in exports of Copper Ore, Gold , Refined Copper, Petroleum Gas, and Animal Meal and Pellets.
