I have never been to the actual building of the restaurant The House of Q before, but I have tried their food once at a graduation party.\u00a0 The caterers served the usual pulled pork sandwiches underneath a white tent at the party, so I did not get a feel of what the restaurant was really like.\u00a0 I was excited when I found out the class was venturing out to The House for Q because any people have recommended that I go and experience what it is like.\u00a0 When I arrived at the restaurant, I was surprised by the variety of barbeque choices they had.<\/p>\n

At the graduation party I had a pulled pork sandwich, which was very tasty, but I wanted to try a new approach.\u00a0 I did what I plan on doing for this whole May Term: I ordered something new.\u00a0 I want to experience a new platter of food from every restaurant, no matter how bizarre the entr\u00e9e sounds.\u00a0 Someone told me prior to coming to The House of Q that their brisket was \u201cout of this world\u201d good.\u00a0 I kept that recommendation in the back of my head.\u00a0 After thoroughly examining the two-sided menu, I decided to order the \u00bd lb brisket sandwich with two sides and a drink.\u00a0 Once the main entr\u00e9e of the meal was selected, I looked at the large variety of sides available.\u00a0 I was surprised with the assortment they had to choose from.\u00a0 Some of the choices I had never heard of, such as a chocolate kicker, which is some type of fried shell filled with your choice of filling served with a dollop of whipped cream on the side and chocolate syrup drizzled on the top.\u00a0 I ended up choosing sweet potato fries and deep-fried pickle spears.\u00a0 A classmate of mine ordered a peanut butter and banana chocolate kicker, so we ended up splitting my side of pickle spears and her chocolate kicker.\u00a0 As for my choice of beverage, I went with the typical choice of refreshing lemonade.<\/p>\n

My food arrived quicker than I expected in a basket, which was nicely arranged.\u00a0 The food was separated instead of just being thrown in the basket.<\/p>\n

Before digging in, I had to figure out how I was going to eat the monstrous sandwich.\u00a0 I ended up cutting it in half.\u00a0 It was perfect because I was able to bring the second half of the sandwich home for later.\u00a0 The House of Q has a large selection of sauces, some including spicy bbq, chipotle, honey mustard, and many other unique flavors.\u00a0 I like hot and spicy foods, so I chose the spicy bbq sauce, which was an excellent choice.\u00a0 The brisket was very tender and served on a toasted bun.\u00a0 The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly.\u00a0 They had the crispy outside while the inside of the fry was still moist.\u00a0 The fried pickle spears were not my favorite, but they still tasted good.\u00a0 They had quite a lot of breading and the pickle did not have that strong of a dill flavor.\u00a0 I would have to say that the pickle spears were average.\u00a0 My meal overall was very delicious.\u00a0 I ate about half of the meal and took the rest home, which is always nice.\u00a0 The delectable meal with two sides and a drink was priced at $10.79.\u00a0 It was very reasonable.\u00a0 I was full after eating half of the portion.<\/p>\n

I would recommend The House of Q to others, especially if they really wanted barbeque.\u00a0 They could always go to Famous Dave\u2019s, but since it\u2019s a chain restaurant people can find it everywhere.\u00a0 It sounded like everyone in the class enjoyed their food, so I would tell people that anything on the menu is most likely tasty.\u00a0 I would tell them from personal experience that the brisket sandwich was delicious. \u00a0The House of Q\u2019s staff was very friendly and they accommodated our class, which roughly 20 people.\u00a0 Our large portions of food were served quickly.\u00a0 The interior was decorated with an authentic barbeque look.\u00a0 I enjoyed my experience at The House of Q and can defiantly see myself going there again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
