In East Dakota, there are rising concerns about long term exposure to radiation waves emitted by hand held radar guns used to speed-check drivers. The concerns arose after three municipal officers in Central City filed workman’s compensation claims, saying they developed cancer from using the hand-held units.
Yesterday, a ban against these hand-held devices has been ordered. Reportedly only as a precaution, while further studies are being conducted into the possible links between using these devices, and the development of cancer.
“The feeling here is to err on the sire of caution until more is known about the issue. The whole situation is under review”
Smith; Spokesman for Highway Patrol
The ban will affect 70 radar guns currently in use. State troopers will continue to use radar units with transmitters located on the outside of the vehicle.
The “concern” could be a news story at some point. But right now all you know for sure is that the guns have been banned by the East Dakota State Patrol. That means the the lead is the second graf:
East Dakota Highway Patrol (Verb) banned (Object) the use of hand-held radar guns yesterday.
Then go with the inverted pyramid.
