Classic Film Review: Flatliners

flatliners1By Nik Rasmussen–It’s time to lock your doors, close the blinds, grab a bowl of popcorn and enjoy the show.  This is Morningside movie reviews, the only place you can find real movies instead of digging through crap; so sit back, relax and let it happen, MOVIE TIME!!!

In Flatliners (1990) writer Jogn Vogei brings a team of promising medical students (Kiefer Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, William Baldwin and Oliver Platt) to one of best medical schools at the time and dares to explore beyond death.  With the use of “modern day” medical equipment, each team member becomes temporarily dead for a certain length of time before being resuscitation.  The experiment is a success but some unexpected side effects test the team of students to the breaking point.

Flatliners has a running time of one hour and fifteen minutes. It was rated R for its dark tone and rated a six point five out of ten on IMDb.  Don’t let that discourage you from watching this movie.  Among the many possible films you could see, this is a gem among rocks.  Flatliners will have you guessing until the ending credits.  You won’t regret the five dollars you spend on this must have film in your collection.
