Restaurant Review: Trattoria Fresco

trattoriafreBy Lindsay Martin– Trattoria Fresco is an Italian restaurant located downtown at 416 Jackson Street in Sioux City, Iowa. The authentic Italian cuisine is absolutely delicious and the customer service is very friendly yet professional.

Complementary bread is served first. Most of the time it’s still warm with that just out of the oven feeling. I tried the gnoccipomodero, which is a dumpling in a chunky fresh tomato basil sauce. It was absolutely delicious, and just the right portion. I also recommend the penne arrabiata, which is penne pasta in a spicy tomato sauce. The homemade lasagna is another popular dish. Trattoria Fresco also has a diverse list of fine wines what will complement any chosen entrée. Save room for dessert because the tiramisu is scrumptious.

The food was mouthwatering and was served fairly quickly after ordering. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. The décor enhanced the overall romantic ambiance of the restaurant. The restaurant and restrooms were well kept, and clean.

Alex Watters said, “I absolutely love locally owned, mom and pop type of restaurants. Israel’s whole family takes part in making sure the restaurant is a success. Not only are their prices fair and their staff friendly, but the food is incredible. We are lucky to have such a great restaurant in Sioux City.”

Lexi Busch said, “I ordered the gnoccipomodero, and it was beyond what I expected. The whole dining experience was a success. I would highly recommend the restaurant for anyone who loves authentic Italian food.”

Although it is a little pricy for college students, the food is definitely worth it. I recommend the restaurant for anything from enjoying lunch or celebrating a special occasion. If you love Italian food, it is a must!
