Jump into spring!

No more dreading the walk across campus!

Morningside students are breaking out their flip-flops and summer clothes this week. What is a person to do with all of this wonderful weather? Well, let’s ask…

“You can more than likely find me out on the golf course,” says Freshmen at Morningside Alex Wendell, an avid golfer.

“I won’t be golfing, but I will be driving the golf cart,” jokes Senior Tyler Brietzke, who admits he may need some work on his golf game.

“Running or just doing some homework. It doesn’t really matter, I just want to be outside,” answers Sophomore studying Biology Taylor Hatting.

So far this week’s weather has been a breath of fresh air here in the Morningside community, and sounds like it will be for the rest of the week. What will you be doing?

According to the Mayo Clinic’s online website, who’s mission is “to help empower people to manage their health,” there are seven benefits of exercising you should keep in mind especially with all of this time you can be spending outside this week!

A few benefits that make the list are exercise improves your mood, boosts your energy, and promotes better sleep. If you’re having a bad day or are feeling stressed, why not put everything down and go for a quick run? You’ll feel more energized afterwards, and be in a better mood than you were before. Also, if you find yourself not being able to fall asleep at night, exercising during the day with help with that, too.

The weather is looking like 70 degree weather for the rest of the week, and no matter if its driving the golf cart, or actually playing a game of golf, be sure to get outside and exercise. Your body will thank you later.
