Still thinking about May Term?

By Kevin Green–
In order to graduate students at Morningside are required to take a May Term. Trips this year include New York, Cuba, and Peru, though others are listed in the catalog, too. May Terms were developed to inspire a lifelong passion for learning. Financial Aid is available to those who qualify.

Asked about possible concerns for destinations such as Egypt (given its recent political unrest), Susan Burns, Associate Dean for student affairs, replied, ”We keep a heavy watch on all things that are happening globally when we have May Terms going abroad.” She also monitors governmental recommendations for travel.

May Terms courses are available on campus as well. For example, want to learn how-to record and edit live music? Field and Studio Music Recording with Dr. Mark Heistad is the course for you. Best of all it only requires one book.

Student ride-a longs with paramedics, CPR and First Aid training will also be taught in Brett Lyon’s Morningside 911 course.

Registration for students still interested or needing to fulfill a graduation requirement should contact the registrar’s office.
